The Laboratory Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory and ensuring that it operates efficiently and in compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The Laboratory Supervisor’s responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including procurement, accreditation management, record-keeping, technical problem resolution, and compliance with safety and quality assurance measures.
· Procurement and Inventory Management:
- Analyze, suggest, and manage laboratory purchases of inventory, storage,
supplies, machines, and equipment.
- Monitor the maintenance and service agreements for equipment.
- Ensure the completeness of all necessary laboratory reagents and
supplies.
· Accreditation Management:
- Attain and manage the required laboratory accreditations.
· Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain and manage laboratory records, reports, and files
- Ensure timely reporting of results, verifying correctness and accuracy.
· Administrative and Technical Issue Resolution:
- Manage and resolve administrative and technical challenges within th
laboratory.
- Assist in the licensing of the clinic laboratory with the Department of Health
(DOH) and other regulatory agencies, including drug testing/HIV testing, if
applicable.
· Laboratory Testing and Operations:
- Perform laboratory examinations and interpretation of test results, including
drug testing, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure the traceability of all specimens collected in the laboratory.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all laboratory results.
- Handle the operations in the drug testing center, including specimen
collection and result encoding.
- Strictly observe standard aseptic techniques and universal precautions.
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of infectious waste and sharps.
· Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Verify the completeness of forms and documents submitted for drug
testing/HIV testing, if applicable.
- Assist in the implementation of quality assurance initiatives for process
improvements.
· Equipment and Inventory Management:
- Assist in the evaluation and inventory of reagents, supplies, and equipmen
in the laboratory.
· Regulatory Compliance:
- Assist in the preparation of necessary documents for permits and licensing
of the clinic laboratory.
· Ad Hoc Duties: Perform any other tasks as directed by the immediate head.
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medical Technology, Clinical
Laboratory Science).
· Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
· Knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
· Knowledge of laboratory safety and compliance with regulatory
requirements.Strong communication and teamwork skills.
